Bharathanatyam is a classical dance style from Southern India having an unbroken tradition for over 2000 years. Born in the South Indian Temples, it is devotional in sprit yet posses a highly stylized and sophisticated technique. It has been used both as a vehicle of worship and as an expression of profound emotion. It utilizes a vocabulary of classical steps to create complex rhythmic patterns. With the language of gesture; it conveys various themes, ideas and concepts to the audience. In an unprecedented manner, the choreographer, Kalaimamani Ramya Ramnarayan has carefully chosen compositions and choreographed the dance pieces in order to explain the historic and cultural background of India through the medium of dance. This group production will be performed by Ramya and her disciples.

From Rt. 522 E/W drive towards the Township of Jamesburg. Make right, if you are traveling from East; or make left if traveling from west on to the Perrineville Road. Continue straight approximately 1.5 miles; Performing Arts Center is on your left.

From NJ Turnpike: At Exit 8A bear left (Jamesburg/Monroe), you will be on Forsgate Drive (Route 32). Continue straight to Perrineville Road (4-way stop/Gulf Gas Station). Turn right onto Perrineville Road. Continue straight approximately 1.5 miles. Performing Arts Center is on your left.

From Route 9 North (Freehold Area): Take Route 9 North to Highway 33 West to Perrineville Road. Turn right on Perrineville Road and continue straight for approximately 3 miles. Go through the light after the shopping center and continue past the Post Office. Performing Arts Center is on your right.
